Juan Shamán: The End Justifies the Principles

- Juan Shamán is a project more than a single person: born from the ashes of old Shamán (1993-2003), the ideals of Juan Shamán live into the 21st. Century. There are no "stars" as such here. Music does not focus on any particular instrument, either.

- The raw sound from the last century has been left behind: our musical conception, while remaining faithful to its spirit of originality and experimentation, has matured in search of further clarity and definition. Because of this, our goals are euphony and balance; that is, Beauty.

- Ours is minimalistic music: we play the least notes possible, just enough to convey the message and content of our songs. Excess only empoverishes the final result.

- Noise exists and is part of Juan Shamán's music. However, ours is a controlled noise: it appears as guitar or vocal textures, synthesizers, percussion, or sequences. In order for a noise to be "musical", its artistic intention must be evident. All of the above also applies to silence.

- Our musical conception changes continually: just like any living being, our sound and compositions will develop through time. In other words, we evolve. We are aware and quite proud of our Latin American, rocker, and classical roots. As a result, our exploration will gravitate within those spheres (in addition to electronica eventually...)

- We do what we do because we like to do it: the moment we stop loving it, we'd better stop doing it too. We believe that sincerity and honesty to ourselves and to those around us are fundamental qualities both in life and in Juan Shamán.

- We aspire to Truth and we work with Love.
